The Private Law Department offers an LL.B. program jointly with the Public Law Department. It also runs an LLM program in commercial law. As with the undergraduate course, the language of instruction at the postgraduate level is Arabic, but certain modules are instructed in English. Postgraduate students are required to study 33 credited hours, including a research-based module. LLM students are also required to pass a comprehensive examination at the end of their course.

The Law Faculty, as an independent entity, commenced its function in September 1999. It succeeded the Law Department, which was established in 1991 as part of the Faculty of Economics & Administrative Sciences.
